A little bit about me…
I make colourful, contemporary glass suncatchers, jewellery, and sculptural pieces using kiln fusing and heritage stained glass techniques, including the copper foil method. Every piece begins with materials I hand-select for their colour, texture, and the way they catch the light. I cut each piece of glass by hand, slowly building compositions that explore balance — delicacy and strength, shadow and glow. When the work goes into the kiln, the fusing feels like a kind of quiet alchemy, where separate fragments are transformed into something entirely new and luminous.
Originally from Scotland, I moved to South West Western Australia in 2023 and now live near the coast with my husband, our son, and a very mischievous black cat. I create on Wardandi Boodja, and the salty, healing sea and ever-changing coastal light deeply shape my work. I feel grateful to live and make on this land, and I’m continually inspired by its vast skies, shifting waters, and quiet strength.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Visual Arts and a postgraduate degree in Psychology, and both continue to inform my practice. After graduating, I spent many years largely on hiatus from art-making. When my mum died, I found myself drawn back to creativity as a form of healing. Working with glass — cutting, composing, and transforming it through fire — became a way to process grief and rediscover wonder.
I’m drawn to the ethereal, to life’s contrasts, and to luminosity in all its forms — shadow and glow, fragility and resilience. Through each hand-crafted piece, I hope to share a small glimmer of joy, a pause, and a little light for everyday life.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to chat glass :)
